Weather Relief Assistance Program (WRAP)
This program has ended for the current season. Please check back again soon.
Cost: Free
Who May Participate: City of Tallahassee electric, water or natural gas customers (residential as well as non-demand billed small business customers) during active program months.
How to Get Started: Complete the form below or call 850-891-4968 and mention "WRAP" to see if the program is currently in place.
Additional Information: A one-time 25 percent deferment option for City utility customers. The alternative payment program, known as WRAP, is designed to ease the financial burden resulting from higher than normal energy use during extreme weather in Tallahassee.
The program allows all residential City and non-demand small business utility customers to carry over 25 percent of their utility bill to the October bill, when usage will likely be less. For 2019, this applies to bill statements issued between 5/27/19 and 9/30/19.
The deferment will be clearly identified as a separate line item on your utility bill. The City will work with customers on an individual basis. The deferment can only be made one time per account. Non-demand small business customers can refer to their utility bill to determine their rate class, indicated as "GS" (refers to "General Service" commercial customers).
Qualifying low-income and disabled residential customers in need may also receive utility bill payment assistance through the City's Project Share initiative. Application into this program is administered locally through the Capital Area Community Action Agency (CACAA) through a screening process. For more information, contact CACAA at 222-2043. Additionally, customers can sign up for a free energy audit to help lower utility bills.
