Property Crimes Task Force Solves a Series of Auto Burglaries
July 19, 2017
The Tallahassee Police Department and Leon County Sheriff's Department working together in the Joint Property Crimes Task Force have made an arrest in a series of burglaries occurring in Northeast Tallahassee and one in Southwest Tallahassee. Between June 25 and July 17, 2017, numerous citizens discovered their vehicles had been burglarized and items were stolen. The burglaries were reported to law enforcement and assigned to the Property Crimes Task Force, a joint task force utilizing TPD investigators and LCSO detectives working together to investigate the numerous crimes involving vehicles in our community.
After an extensive investigation, a search warrant was executed at an apartment at 1560 High Road. Numerous items were located inside the apartment including computers, handguns, a shotgun, ammunition, a camera and other similar items. The items were stolen from vehicles and being kept at the High Road apartment. Task Force members arrested Keenan Graham after he tried to run from the apartment. Graham was charged with two counts of grand theft of a firearm, grand theft, petit theft, resisting arrest without violence, possession of cannabis less than 20 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, and violation of probation.
Due to collaborative efforts by the Property Crimes Task Force, members were able to recover the majority of the stolen items at the suspect's home. Some property has been returned to the owners but there is still some property stolen from vehicles which has not been claimed yet. Attached are pictures of property recovered during the search warrant. Investigators are asking for anyone with information to contact the Joint Property Crimes Task Force at the Tallahassee Police Department by calling 850-891-4200 or emailing TPD Investigator Susan Burton at Susan.Burton@talgov.com or LCSO Detective Ryan Morley at MorleyR@leoncountyfl.gov.
