TPD Makes Homicide Arrest (Updated 12/1 @ 1:41 a.m.)

While searching for Thompson investigators learned that Reginald Gibson abducted Elisa Thompson from the parking lot of her employer. Several hours later Gibson was observed committing a burglary in the 1400 block of Nena Hills Court while driving Thompson’s vehicle. Gibson was also wanted for an unrelated burglary/kidnapping that occurred on November 27th near the 1000 block of North Duval Street. Thankfully the victim in that case only sustained non-life threatening injuries.
On the evening of November 30th Gibson was observed on foot near the 900 block of East Magnolia Drive. When officers attempted to take him into custody, Gibson fled on foot but was later captured.
Gibson was charged for the burglary/kidnapping near the 1000 block of North Duval Street., the burglary near the 1400 block of Nena Hills Court., and the death of Elisa Thompson. Gibson was later transported to the Leon County Detention Facility for booking.

TPD Investigates Missing Woman’s Death
On November 30th TPD received a call for service reference to a missing person. The reporting person advised that Elisa Thompson, who was last seen driving her black 2016 Nissan Rogue, had not picked up her children from daycare and were concerned for her welfare. While continuing to search for Thompson, her vehicle was discovered in the parking lot of 2810 Sharer Road. Sadly, Elisa Thompson was found deceased inside her vehicle. Investigators have identified a person of interest and have them in custody. At this time there is no threat to the community.
