Change Your Mind, Change Your Life
Creating Positive Paths for Local Youth
January 29, 2014
On Saturday, Feb. 1, the Jack McLean Community Center and Teen Council will host the Change Your Mind, Change Your Life event from 1-4 p.m. The focus of this free event is to help educate youth and their parents about positive programs and activities available in our community. This effort is tied to the Tallahassee – Stop The Violence movement that is aimed at controlling and reducing senseless violence in Tallahassee.
Attendees will enjoy live performances from singers, dancers, poets and more. Come be inspired by motivational speakers, get information from a variety of vendors and agencies and groove while Blazin’ 102.3 keeps the beat up. With free food provided by Olive Garden, free haircuts, a clothing giveaway and door prizes as well, this is a great way for the whole family to spend the afternoon.
It has been said that you need to be the change you want to see in the world. Join the community on Feb. 1 and learn how you can help stem the tide of violence.
The Jack McLean Community Center, located at 700 Paul Russell Road, is operated and maintained by the City’s Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Affairs Department.
