A Chance to Win Big at the Airport
Florida Lottery Tickets Now Available at TLH
June 25, 2013
Tallahassee Regional Airport (TLH) hit the jackpot today at an event celebrating the addition of the Florida Lottery games at TLH. Guests traveling through the Airport now have an opportunity to test their luck by playing various Florida Lottery Terminal and Scratch-Off games, including FLORIDA LOTTO™, POWERBALL® and the newest game to launch in Florida, MEGA MILLIONS®. Tickets may be purchased airside at the Tuscan Sun Coffee House, located at Concourse A.
Today's event kicked off with Florida Lottery officials distributing scratch-off tickets and other promotional prizes to lucky Airport guests waiting to board their flights. City and State officials, including City Commissioner Scott Maddox and Florida Lottery Secretary Cynthia O'Connell, were also in attendance to share in the excitement.
"Before any winning numbers are announced, we already know that selling lottery tickets at the airport is a win-win-win," said City Commissioner Scott Maddox. "It provides an amenity for our traveling customers, drives traffic to a local, independently owned business and supports education through lottery funds."
The Florida Lottery is responsible for contributing more than 25 billion dollars to education and sending more than 600,000 students to college through the Bright Futures Scholarship Program. With more than 600,000 guests traveling through TLH each year, the addition of a Florida Lottery retailer not only offers Airport customers the chance to win the jackpot, it also provides an opportunity to bring additional funding into the state for education.
"The Lottery is pleased to partner with Tuscan Sun Coffee House to offer our games to Tallahassee Regional Airport travelers in the Capital City. We value all of our retail partners, and we wish Tuscan Sun Coffee House great success," said Florida Lottery Secretary Cynthia O'Connell.
Tuscan Sun is a locally owned and operated minority business in the Airport. The coffee shop is open Sunday through Friday from 4:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday from 4:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with tickets only being available during these hours. Customers can buy or redeem lottery tickets up to $50. Prizes of $51 to $250,000 must be claimed at any Florida Lottery district office or at the Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.
The Tallahassee Regional Airport is owned and operated by the City of Tallahassee. For more information about the Airport, visit the website at www.flytallahassee.com, like Tallahassee Regional Airport on Facebook and follow @iFlyTallahassee on Twitter.
