Portion of Miccosukee Road to Close for Two Days
June 08, 2017
The City of Tallahassee will close Miccosukee Road between Lee Avenue and Mitchell Avenue on June 13 and 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day as crews complete underground utility improvements. The work is part of the final phase of a project to upgrade underground utilities along Marion Avenue to further provide high-quality water service in the area.
Traffic will be detoured onto Lee Avenue and Mitchell Avenue to avoid the construction area. Marion Avenue will be accessible to local traffic only via Ingleside Drive and 6th Avenue. The portions of Miccosukee Road between Lee Avenue and Mitchell Avenue will also be accessible to local traffic only. Motorists are advised to slow down and use caution in the area.
Construction will include excavating in the intersection of Miccosukee Road and Marion Avenue and connecting the water main that runs along Marion Avenue to the main in Miccosukee Road. After the pipe work has been completed, the excavated area will be filled and patched and all road striping restored.
