TPD Arrest Suspects linked to Attempted Homicide/Burglaries (update)

TPD investigators have charged Elvonte Sperdutos in connection with the attempted homicide and attempted burglary near the 2500 block of Capstone Road. The investigation revealed that Sperdutos was one of many suspects that were in the area of the burglaries. Through various pieces of evidence and interviews, Sperdutos was determined to be the burglar and shooter on Capstone Road. After consultation with the State Attorney’s Office Sperdutos was arrested for the below charges with charges pending. Sperdutos remains at the Juvenile Assessment Center.
This is an ongoing investigation. Investigators continue to review collected evidence and surveillance videos provided by the community Investigators anticipate additional arrest and charges.

During the morning of December 28th after the attempted homicide/burglary near the 2500 block of Capstone Drive, officers and Investigators canvassed the area looking for additional victims and surveillance videos. It was discovered that a total of 6 burglaries had been committed by a group, using a stolen black Ford F250 and a white Ford Fusion. The community assisted Officers, Investigators, and Forensic Technicians to build a picture of the morning’s violent criminal activity. Due to this effort TPD was able to notify the Leon County Sheriff’s Office of the Ford F250’s connection to the above crimes, which led to them capturing a suspect, firearms, with pending TPD charges. (See previous Joint Press Release) At approximately 12:30 p.m., TPD responded to the area of South Magnolia Drive reference to a stolen white Ford Fusion last seen during the evening of December 27th.
On December 28th at approximately 10:45 p.m., a TPD patrol officer observed the white Ford Fusion traveling on Jackson Bluff Road, while not operating its headlights. Once the officer attempted a traffic stop the vehicle began to flee at a high rate of speed. The vehicle would then lose control and crash at the intersection Fairlane Road and Sherwood Drive. All 6 occupants (1 adult, 5 juveniles) immediately exited the vehicle and began to flee on foot. Dozens of officers quickly surrounded the area established a perimeter. After foot pursuits and K-9 tracks, all 6 occupants were recovered by 11:23 p.m. and transported to TPD for questioning.
After conducting several interviews and reviewing collected evidence, investigators charged all 6 occupants with Resisting without Violence with pending charges.
In addition, Chans Costin was charged with Grand Theft Auto direct involvement with the theft of the white Ford Fusion.
Javen Parker was charged with 6 counts of Armed Auto Burglary, and Grand Theft Auto for his direct involvement with the theft of the white Ford Fusion, and burglaries near Capstone Drive, and Rosin Way.

Original Press Release | December 28, 2019 8:17 a.m. | TPD Investigates Shooting and Multiple Burglaries
At approximately 2:08 a.m. TPD responded to a shooting near the 2500 block of Capstone Road. The adult female victim observed the suspect inside her garage attempting to burglarize her vehicle. When detected the suspect moved and fired several shots at the victim before fleeing the area. Thankfully the victim and her children inside the residence were not harmed. While on scene 3 additional vehicle burglaries were located near the 2500 block of Capstone Road, and 2500 block of Rosin Way.
