TPD Investigates Shooting on West Pensacola Street

On Friday, January 31, 2020, at approximately 9:01 p.m., the Tallahassee Police Department responded to a shooting incident near 2700 West Pensacola Street. Officers arriving on scene were informed of several gunshots heard in the area and a person running through the parking lot after the shots were fired. Officers began an on-scene investigation which included speaking with witnesses and canvassing the area for any evidence. Evidence of a shooting was located and a K9 track was initiated in an attempt to locate a possible victim. The victim was not located during the search of the area. TPD’s Forensic Unit responded to the scene to collect and process the evidence located by officers.
A short time later, at approximately 9:53 p.m., TPD received information an adult male arrived at a local hospital with a non-threatening gunshot wound to the hand. Officers responded to the hospital to obtain additional information and were able to link the victim to the shooting incident in the area of 2700 West Pensacola Street.
