Bull Headley Water Main Extension Project

The City of Tallahassee is gathering information related to the extension of potable water infrastructure within portions of the Bull Headley Road corridor between Bannerman Road and Jeffrey Road, which would improve its ability to continue providing safe, reliable drinking water and fire protection in the area. The project, which is in the design phase, will construct approximately 2,300 linear feet of water mains as well as valves, fire hydrants, water services and meter settings.

The City has contracted with a design consultant for these improvements. It is anticipated that the design and permitting efforts will be completed by December 2026.

A land surveyor will be in the area in early June 2026 to collect data such as right-of-way and utility easement boundaries; location, size, and depth of existing utilities; location of physical improvements within the right-of-way/easements; and topographic information. As the surveyor gathers data, residents may notice paint markings and/or flags throughout the area depicting the location of buried utilities and other infrastructure. Please do not remove the flags or paint markings, which are used by the surveyor to collect and evaluate information needed for the design of the water system improvement project.

Construction of the project is tentatively planned to begin in early 2027.

For more information regarding these planned activities, contact Brian Moody, PE, with the City’s Underground Utilities and Public Infrastructure department at (850) 891-6163 or Brian.Moody@Talgov.com.
