Fall Sports

The weather doesn't exactly cool down in the fall around these parts, but the sports offerings certainly heat up! Fall is our busiest season of the year, with offerings in both Tackle and Flag Football, Adult Softball, Girls Volleyball, Cheerleading and Fall Baseball Leagues. Fall is also a good time to pick up a new sport, so why not try your hand at Pickleball?

Youth Tackle Football

2022 Recreational Youth Tackle Football Program

The City of Tallahassee Parks and Recreation Youth Tackle Football Program is for ages 8-13. Practices will be near the location site you choose. All games will be played at James Messer Sports Complex on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. There must be at least 4 teams to have a league. Volunteer coaches are needed for the program. The registration fee of the child on the team coached by a parent will be waived. If interested in coaching, please contact the program supervisor.

      • Discount Fee: $15 - For those receiving public assistance, the Notice of Action letter from the Department of Children & Families, with current coverage dates, can be submitted at time of registration for an 80% fee waiver.

    • The 6 game season will run October 4, 2022 through November 9, 2022
  • Age Groups
    • Age Determining Date September 1, 2022 (the player's age on this date is their league age)

    • Intermediate (10-11); Weight Limit - 155 pounds
    • Junior (11-13); Weight Limit - Unlimited

2022 Recreational Youth Cheerleading Program

    • Pee Wee - Practice will start August 27, 2022; Games will be Saturday mornings from September 24, 2022 through November 5, 2022.
    • Junior - Practices will start August 30, 2022; Games will be Tuesday or Wednesday evenings at James Messer Sports Complex from October 4, 2022 through November 9, 2022.
  • Age Groups
    • Age Determining Date September 1, 2022 (the player's age on this date is their league age)
    • Pee Wee (4-8) - Cheers for the Flag Football Leagues on Saturday mornings
    • Junior (8-13) - Cheers for the Tackle Football Leagues on Tuesday or Wednesday nights
    • 8 year old cheerleaders can choose either the Pee Wee or Junior League.

Youth Flag Football

The City of Tallahassee Youth Flag Football League is for ages 4-17. All games may not be played at registration sites. Game sites will not be determined until all teams are finalized. In the event there are not enough teams at a park to form a league, parks may be combined with others to form a league. In most cases, practices will be held at the same location you register, unless otherwise directed. Volunteer coaches are needed for the program. Adult Beach Volleyball

2022 Fall Adult Beach Volleyball Program

The adult beach volleyball program is for adults 18 years of age and older. Recreational and Competitive 4v4 leagues, as well as King of the Beach and Queen of the Beach 2v2 leagues are offered. Games are played on Monday night for 4v4 leagues and Tuesday night for 2v2 leagues. Games are played at Tom Brown Park. Every 4v4 team plays one game per week for 8 weeks and every 2v2 player plays 6 sets each week for 8 weeks. Registration for the 4v4 leagues is by team. If you are interested in playing but do not have a team, please contact the program supervisor listed below.
