Adoptable Community Pets & Rehoming Program
The listing below are animals currently in need of homes in our community. This program is a courtesy to Leon County pet owners who have had to make the difficult decision to rehome their pet. These animals are offered for adoption by their owners at no cost as they are looking for a loving, lifelong home. Just a few simple steps and you'll be meeting your new best friend:
- When you see an animal you'd like to adopt, please download and complete the questionnaire (PDF); if you already have an approved questionnaire on file just give us a call! If you have issues submitting, please fill out the form, save it and send the saved PDF to adopt@talgov.com.
- Once an adoption questionnaire has been submitted, an adoption counselor will be in contact with you within 2 business days of receiving your application.
- After approval your questionnaire will be emailed to the animal's current owner. They will be responsible with following up with you to arrange a meeting of the pet so please be patient.

MOLLY - A190246 I am a unaltered female Australian Cattle Dog and Golden Retriever and I am about 7 years old After being found in a parking lot of a friend's workplace, a kind woman took me in and searched for my original owners. They were never found and she provided me a home for the last five years. Unfortunately, my mom had to be placed in a memory care facility and I am being cared for by her son until I can find a new home. While he loves me & I have been great with his young son, I need my own family as their house is full! No one really knows my breed mix so Heeler/Retriever is something of what I kind of look like! I am an indoor dog who is housebroken, well behaved and I do well with gentle children. I haven't told anyone whether I get along with cats but I do get along with other dogs (as long as we are separated for feeding). I live with another dog now, but I would probably prefer a family of my own as I haven't been sharing anything with another dog for the last five years. I am smart, well mannered and calm. I am ready for a wonderful family that is looking for an easy going, faithful companion who is still recovering from the loss of her mom. Are you willing to be a part of the next chapter of my life?

BASTET - A190606 I am a spayed female Domestic Shorthair and I am about 5 years old Who needs a gorgeous diva that loves to be brushed and spoiled? You do! Bestat (aka Small Cat) is in need of a new home as her parents' living situation will require them to live with other kitties, and Bestat just isn't having that. While she gets along with respectful dogs, this girl needs to be the only cat in the family. What she lacks in enjoying the company of other cats, she makes up for in beauty, affection and assertive independence. Bestat would do best as an indoor only, solo cat with a family that will worship her and shower her with love for being the diva she is! She is spayed, up to date on vaccines and she comes with all her supplies. If you are looking for a cat that knows who she is and doesn't waiver from her conditional love, meet Bestat today!

WHISKERS - A188905 I am a spayed female Domestic Shorthair and I am about 5 years old Sometimes you adopt an animal and the fit just isn't right. This was the case with poor Whiskers. She was adopted in Colorado, but made her way to Tallahassee to stay with her adopter's parents. Their home, unfortunately, just wasn't right for her. Whiskers has spent most of her time hiding. Whether she's afraid of her new fur siblings or Florida Man, we can't be sure. But this sweet kitty really needs to find some new digs. Her current caretakers are hoping to find her a home where she can open up and finally be herself. They note she does seem skittish with other animals (which may explain the months long game of hide and seek). They also told us that even though she's shy, she genuinely seems to want love. If you have it in your heart to love our little wallflower Whiskers, please, contact her owners today!
