Located in the capital city, the Tallahassee International Airport stands as one of the largest economic drivers in the North Florida region. With millions of dollars in investments toward for major airport infrastructure projects, TLH is expected to serve one million passengers in 2024. These strategic investments will further position the Tallahassee International Airport as a competitive, innovative, and sustainable economic hub, enhancing its role in regional and national growth.
Construction is currently underway on the international processing facility, a $30.5 million project to support the Foreign Trade Zone that will serve 11 counties and create $300 million in annual economic impact. The facility will enable TLH to accommodate international flights and give the ability for goods to be shipped to and received from worldwide destinations. This project will provide for a terminal expansion to house a U.S. Customs and Border Protection approved international port-of-entry and a Federal Inspection Facility (FIS) that will serve both commercial air service and general aviation needs at TLH.
Plans are currently underway on the Air Cargo Apron Expansion Project, which include the development of approximately 10 acres of apron space and 108,000 square feet of building space to support our growing economy’s transportation and logistics needs. A logistics center is also in development to support future cargo needs, such as cross-border and e-commerce packages, as well as future Foreign Trade Zone operations.
TLH has also made investments to enhance passenger experiences through a terminal modernization project, commercial air service expansion and future vehicle traffic, parking and rental car infrastructure developments. As part of the City of Tallahassee’s Five-Year Strategic Plan to enhance and modernize infrastructure, which will enable capacity for continued growth and increase the airport’s annual economic impact to $1 billion, the Tallahassee International Airport will continue to look toward emerging aviation trends, including air mobility and sustainable aviation initiatives
