TPD Welcomes Final Recruit Class of the Year, Reaches 44 Officers Sworn In During Bicentennial

The Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) proudly welcomed its newest officers during a swearing-in ceremony held today, Aug. 5, at City Hall.

With the addition of this class, TPD has now sworn in 44 new officers during its bicentennial year, a milestone that reflects the department's continued investment in recruiting the next generation of public servants while celebrating 200 years of service to the Tallahassee community.

While each officer arrives with a unique story, they share a common commitment to serving others. This class includes a TPD legacy officer, an officer with prior emergency medical services experience, a former collegiate athlete and an officer with previous law enforcement experience in Georgia.

“Each of these officers brings unique experiences and a strong commitment to public service,” Chief Lawrence Revell said. “As we celebrate 200 years of policing in Tallahassee, it is encouraging to welcome the next generation of officers who will help carry our department forward and continue building strong relationships throughout our community.”

Following today's ceremony, the officers will begin the next phase of their field training before serving residents and visitors throughout Tallahassee.
