TPD Welcomes New Generation of Leadership

The Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) celebrated the promotion of eight members to key command staff positions during a ceremony held Monday, July 20. The promotions included two Deputy Chiefs, one Major and five Captains.

The newly promoted Command Staff represents the next generation of leaders who will help shape the department's vision, guide daily operations and mentor others while continuing TPD's commitment to serving the Tallahassee community.

Deputy Chiefs, Majors and Captains play a vital role in leading the department's operations, supporting employees and ensuring TPD continues providing professional, effective and community-focused policing. Their leadership will help guide the organization through the challenges of today while preparing it for the opportunities of tomorrow.

"One of the most important responsibilities of today's leaders is preparing future leaders," Chief Lawrence Revell said. "These promotions reflect the depth of talent within our department and our commitment to developing leaders who are ready to guide this organization into the future. I hope every officer sees that there is a path to leadership through hard work, integrity and service."
