HERE for You: Summer Cool Down 200th Spectacular
Join TPD as We Celebrate Five Years of Summer Cool Down and 200 Years of Service to the Tallahassee Community
July 16, 2026
The Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) is inviting the community to cool off, connect and celebrate during the fifth annual HERE for You: Summer Cool Down, a free family-friendly event designed to bring neighbors and officers together outside of emergency situations.
This year's event takes place on Saturday, August 8, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Tom Brown Park and is especially meaningful as TPD celebrates 200 years of serving the Tallahassee community.
Families of all ages are encouraged to come out and enjoy an afternoon of summer fun featuring:
- Water activities and games
- Snow cones and food (while supplies last)
- Giveaways (while supplies last)
- Music
- Activities for children
- Opportunities to meet TPD officers and learn more about the department
Whether you're looking to cool off before the school year begins, spend time with family or simply get to know the officers serving your neighborhood, Summer Cool Down offers something for everyone.
"One of the best parts of policing happens when we're simply spending time with the people we serve," said Chief Lawrence Revell. "Summer Cool Down gives our officers and community the opportunity to build relationships, share conversations and create memories in a fun and welcoming environment. As we celebrate 200 years of service, we're reminded that strong partnerships with our community have always been at the heart of what we do."
Now entering its fifth year, Summer Cool Down has become a favorite annual tradition, welcoming hundreds of residents for an afternoon focused on connection, conversation and community. The event reflects TPD's ongoing commitment to building trust through meaningful engagement and reinforces the department's HERE for You philosophy.
