City of Tallahassee Winter Sports Registration Now Open

Get active this winter with a variety of community sports leagues offered by the City of Tallahassee. With both youth and adult sports available, there are plenty of ways for people of all ages and activity levels to enjoy the City's parks and fields in the coming months. Winter sports registration is now open at Talgov.com/Parks.

Youth Soccer
The City of Tallahassee offers coed soccer for players ages 4-17, and all girls soccer for players ages 7-17. Practices will begin on Monday, Nov. 13, and the season will run through Saturday, Feb. 24. Registration is currently open through Friday, Oct. 27. Volunteer coaches are needed for youth soccer teams. Contact the City's Athletics Division staff at 850-891-3866 for more information.

Youth Basketball
Coed and all girls basketball leagues are offered for players ages 8-17, with leagues divided into three age groups. Practices will begin on Monday, Nov. 13, and the season will run through Friday, March 8. The City also offers the Lil Hoopsters Basketball Fundamentals Program for players ages 4-7. Players will meet on Saturday mornings for six weeks beginning Jan. 13.

Adult Basketball
Recreation and competitive league basketball is offered for adults 18 years of age or older. Games are played on weeknights with two games per week, beginning Tuesday, Jan. 16, and running through Friday, Feb. 23. Registration is by team and is currently open through Friday, Jan. 5. Adult Beach Volleyball
Beach volleyball is available for adults 18 years of age or older. Both recreational and competitive 4v4 leagues are offered. 4v4 leagues play each Monday night at Tom Brown Park for eight weeks. King of the Beach and Queen of the Beach 2v2 leagues are also available. 2v2 leagues play six sets each Tuesday night at Tom Brown Park for eight weeks.

Games will begin on Monday, Jan. 22, and run through Tuesday, March 19. Registration is by team and is currently open through Friday, Jan. 12. For more information or to register a team, visit Talgov.com/Parks.

Officials and referees are needed year-round for both youth and adult sports. Officials are paid positions through the City of Tallahassee. Motivated and energetic individuals interested in applying should contact the City's Athletics Division staff at 850-891-3866 for more information.
