Today's Community Budget Workshop Cancelled
April 07, 2014
Due to inclement weather, the City of Tallahassee has cancelled today's community budget workshop, which was previously scheduled for the Tallahassee Senior Center, located at 1400 N. Monroe St., from 3:30 - 5 p.m. At this time, the City is reviewing whether or not to reschedule the workshop.
"We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience," said Heath Beach, manager of the City's Office of Budget and Policy. "Safety is our priority. With thunderstorms headed our way, we wouldn't want anyone to drive in these conditions unless absolutely necessary."
While today's workshop has been cancelled, citizens will still have the opportunity to share their thoughts about the Fiscal Year 2015 (FY15) budget. Tomorrow, the City will post a 14-question survey on Talgov.com that will allow citizens to weigh-in on a range of topics including what City services they have used in the past six months and their level of support on a variety of services and programs.
Information and feedback gathered from the budget workshops and online survey will be summarized and is expected to be presented to the City Commission as part of the FY15 budget process. The FY15 budget will take effect on October 1, 2014.
