TFD Responds to Structure Fire on Lake Avenue

On January 1, at 12:21 a.m., the Tallahassee Fire Department (TFD) was dispatched to a residential structure fire located in the 1500 block of Lake Avenue. Crews arrived on scene quickly to find a two-story home with heavy fire and smoke showing from the second floor.

First arriving crews made entry into the structure and began to extinguish the fire. TFD personnel made an aggressive search for possible occupants still inside the structure. Once the home was searched, TFD determined that there were no occupants inside at the time of the fire. There were no reported injuries on scene. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

TFD was assisted on scene by the Tallahassee Police Department, Leon County EMS and City of Tallahassee Utilities. The State Fire Marshal's office was called to the scene for further investigation.
