May 23, 2022
On May 21 at 10:20 a.m., the Tallahassee Fire Department (TFD) was dispatched to a residential structure fire located in the 2000 block of Brighton Road. While en route to the address, a neighbor advised dispatch that someone might be inside the structure.
TFD crews arrived on scene in three minutes and found a single-story residential structure with heavy smoke and fire showing from the front door and window. They quickly made entry to attack the fire and search for occupants.
Crews were able to get the fire knocked down quickly and prevent it from extending into the attic. They searched the residence and determined that nobody was inside at the time of the fire. There were no reported injuries on scene.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
TFD was assisted on scene by the Tallahassee Police Department, Leon County EMS and City of Tallahassee Utilities. Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the resident.
