October 25, 2021
On Oct. 22, the Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) arrested one person following a shooting investigation that occurred on May 30, just before 4:30 a.m.at a residence in the 2900 block of Royal Oaks Drive.
The preliminary findings revealed multiple suspects shot at a homeowner who confronted them during an attempted vehicle burglary. Thankfully, no injuries resulted from this shooting. The suspects fled immediately following the incident, and arriving officers were unable to locate them.
The subsequent investigation included the collection of physical evidence and video footage from the victim's surveillance system. These efforts helped detectives with TPD's Juvenile Services Unit identify a suspect and develop probable cause for an arrest in this case.
On Oct. 22, a suspect, already in custody on an unrelated case, was charged.
This arrest is a testament to TPD's tireless efforts and dedication to bringing justice to the victim in this case. This remains an ongoing investigation, and there could be more arrests in the future.
