TPD Sting Operation Nets Multiple Arrests

To enhance public safety and the quality of life enjoyed by residents, the Tallahassee Police Department is committed to addressing the sale of illegal narcotics in the community.
On Aug. 31, members of TPD’s General Narcotics Unit and Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving Squad executed a sting operation in the 500 block of West Brevard Street, 2500 block of West Pensacola Street and 500 block of North Copeland Street. The operation resulted in the arrest of four suspects on charges ranging from selling cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school to possession of drug paraphernalia.
The illegal sale and use of drugs impact everyone and are often linked to more violent crimes. TPD is dedicated to eliminating illegal drug activity in the community. Residents can help by reporting this type of activity by calling TPD at 850-891-4200 or Crime Stoppers at 850-574-TIPS.
Arrested:
Robert Huntley, 37, for selling cocaine within 1,000 feet of a convenience business, possession of cocaine, possession of paraphernalia, smuggling contraband into a county detention facility and conspiracy to sell cocaine.
James Eggleton, 61, for selling cocaine within 1,000 feet of a convenience business, possession of paraphernalia, possession of cocaine with intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a convenience business, conspiracy to sell cocaine, and possession of a prescribed drug without a prescription.
Felipe Perez, 21, for selling cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school or childcare facility, possession of cocaine with intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a school or childcare facility and possession of paraphernalia.
Derenzo Payne, 25, for selling cocaine within 1,000 feet of a convenience business.
