Shooting on Stuckey Avenue Being Investigated

At approximately 12:43 a.m. today, Aug. 29, the Tallahassee Police Department responded to Providence Pointe Apartments, located at 1242 Stuckey Avenue, in response to a report of a shooting.
Responding officers located a 10-year-old child at the scene who had been shot in the leg. Officers immediately provided medical attention, and the victim was transported to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was injured when several gun shots were fired into an apartment by the suspect(s). Investigators with TPD’s Violent Crimes Unit are working diligently to obtain more information pertaining to this incident.
At this time, no suspects are in custody.
Investigators ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident, but did not speak with an officer on scene, or anyone with information about the shooting to please call TPD at 850-891-4200. They may also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 850-574-TIPS.
