Arrest Made in Robbery and Attempted Kidnapping
March 12, 2020
At approximately 8:00pm on Wednesday, March 11th, TPD officers responded to the parking lot of 1802 Thomasville Road to investigate a Robbery and possible Attempted Kidnapping. The victim and witnesses reported the victim had exited a business and was walking back to her car when the suspect emerged from a parked van and grabbed her. It appeared the suspect was attempting to pull the victim into the van.
The victim fought the suspect, which made the suspect cease his attempts abduct the victim. He fled in the van after taking her purse.
Witnesses were able to provide a description, tag number, and direction of travel for the vehicle. The tag was registered to a business in Thomasville, GA. The business owner was cooperative and Tallahassee Police investigators were able to develop Warrick Lee as the suspect.
While the investigation was ongoing, Lee arrived at the Thomasville Jail and attempted to use the money obtained in the robbery to bail his girlfriend out. He was detained and Tallahassee Police investigators went to Thomasville to interview him.
Based on the evidence and interviews, probable cause was developed to charge Lee with Robbery and Attempted Kidnapping. He is currently in custody in Thomasville awaiting extradition to Leon County.
The Tallahassee Police Department would like to thank the witnesses who were willing to get involved and provide the critical information which led to the successful outcome of this case. This is an example of how valuable witness testimony at the scene is in our efforts to prevent and solve crime. We are not releasing their names at this time.
