Fun Fridays Return with Free Events
City’s Splash & Jam Program Provides Safe Summer Fun
May 31, 2019
City of Tallahassee community centers will be the hot spot to cool down on Friday nights this summer, as the ninth season of Splash & Jam returns. These events offer local families and teens free, safe alternatives for late night fun.
Splash & Jam events feature an all ages, family-style pool party – "the splash" – from 7-9 p.m. complete with pool games, refreshments and music. As there is not a pool at the Palmer Munroe Teen Center, there will be water activities from 7-9 p.m.
After the splash, teens can "jam" inside the community centers at themed events from 9-11 p.m. Designed for middle and high school youth, the parties will have food, games and live music from a deejay. Socks are required for skate nights.
Splash & Jam events begin on Friday, June 7, and take place every Friday through August 2 (except July 5). Below is a full schedule of this year's events:
- June 7 at the Jack McLean Community Center, 700 Paul Russell Road. Teen activity is an 80s-themed dance party.
- June 14 at the Lawrence-Gregory Community Center, 1115 Dade Street. Teen activity is a dance party.
- June 21 at the Walker-Ford Community Center, 2301 Pasco Street. Teen activity is skate night.
- June 28 at Jack McLean. Teen activity is a glow party.
- July 12 at the Palmer Munroe Teen Center, 1900 Jackson Bluff Road. Teen activity is bounce houses and slides.

To strengthen relationships with area youth, City representatives, including police officers, will be on-hand at each event, joining in the fun.
Splash & Jam is hosted by the City's Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Affairs (PRNA) Department and the Tallahassee Police Department (TPD). For more information, please contact PRNA at 891-3866 or visit Talgov.com/parks.
