ASC Hosts Annual Howl at the Moon Event
Family-Friendly Event Takes Place Friday
October 22, 2013
You're invited to the Tallahassee-Leon Community Animal Service Center (ASC) for some fang-tastic fun! The fifth annual Howl at the Moon event will take place on Friday, Oct. 25, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the ASC. Don't be a scaredy cat; those howls are just the dogs asking for you to join them at this free event for some old-fashioned, family-friendly Halloween fun.
Ghouls and boys of all ages will have a monster good time with a spooky walk, a not-so-spooky walk, a super-spooky walk, holiday photo opportunities, face painting, bounce house, popcorn, cotton candy, snowcones, a puppy play area and lots of candy. Guests are encouraged to wear their costumes whether scary or sweet; all humans are welcome to trick or treat.
Treats and good memories aren't the only things attendees can take away from Howl at the Moon. Each family attending will receive a Golden Paw ticket, which is good for a free adoption!
Parking for the event will be at the softball field across from the ASC.
During the event, the ASC will not be processing any animal adoptions. In order to prepare for the event, the shelter will close an hour early on Friday – the kennels will close at 5 p.m. and the front desk will close at 5:30 p.m. However, the ASC will be open again from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. This event is a great opportunity to find a wicked cute new family member!
The Animal Service Center, located adjacent to Tom Brown Park at 1125 Easterwood Drive, is operated and maintained by the City's Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Affairs Department.
