Today, Feb. 18, at 2:06 a.m., the Tallahassee Fire Department (TFD) was dispatched to a structure fire in the 1600 block of Pullen Road.
TFD arrived on scene to find a two-story apartment complex with smoke coming from one apartment. Crews made entry to search the apartment and extinguish the fire. There were no other injuries.
The fire was caused by unattended cooking. Smoke detectors in the apartment activated and alerted the occupants. The other seven apartments were not damaged by the fire.
TFD was assisted on scene by officers from the Tallahassee Police Department.
