Underground Utility Water Crew
Receives High Praise
Utility Customer Describes Impressive Work
May 23, 2013
Water crews work around the clock, often in difficult conditions, to ensure the safe, reliable delivery of services to customers. Rarely does their daily work draw much attention. So when a customer takes the time to offer heartfelt words of thanks (and even lunch), it can be especially rewarding to staff after a long and hard day’s work.
An appreciative customer on Trescott Drive recently did just that.
He wrote: “A water main pipe burst under the street and there was a work crew there until nearly 10 p.m. (they started early afternoon). These guys never stopped working. They completed the job and made sure everything worked before they left.
I spoke with one worker, in his early 40s and he shared his health issues. . . I could relate. However, I could never work as hard as he did.
Another worker had to position his body underneath the water pipe to repair the sewer pipe which the water pipe cracked when it burst. All this time, these people were up to their knees in muck, . . . and water. Never a complaint. . .
Very, very impressive. A great crew.”
On behalf of Your Own Utilities, special thanks to the crew and also to the customer for his civic-mindedness and concern. This is just one more example of what makes Tallahassee the #1 Public Utility and the Most Livable City in America.
