The Tallahassee Police Department continues its investigation into the suspicious death which TPD officers were called to last night at approximately 8:45p.m. TPD was called to 1400 Village Square Boulevard after an employee called 911. The employee said they were walking in the parking lot earlier in the day when they noticed a male "slumped over" as if he was sleeping in his car. The employee walked past the car again several hours later and noticed the man was still in the same position. The employee immediately called 911 and TPD patrol officers and emergency medical personnel arrived on scene but unfortunately the male was deceased.
Investigators from TPD's Violent Crimes Unit and Forensic Unit responded to the scene and are conducting a methodical and thorough investigation into the incident, including reviewing all evidence and interviewing all witnesses. The victim has been identified as John A. Casey Martinez DOB: 04/04/87. The cause of death is pending as an autopsy is scheduled for today.
