The North Florida Chapter of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) is partnering with the following law enforcement agencies to sponsor the City's bi-annual Gun Buyback Program: Florida A & M University Police Department, Florida State University Police Department, Leon County Sheriff Office and Tallahassee Police Department. This proactive campaign is aimed at silencing gun violence in our city and sending a loud message to criminals that we will not allow our streets to be overridden by crime.
Gun violence is a community issue, and we need the community's support. Local businesses, churches, and citizens are asked to donate funds to help off-set the cost of purchasing gift cards for firearms turned in during the event. Donations can be made to the North Florida Chapter of NOBLE by contacting Tonja Bryant-Smith @850-528-7037 or Meschelle Pittman at 850-251-7562.
Gun Buyback Dates/Locations:
August 15, 2014, 6:00pm - 8:30pm @ Thomasville Baptist Church, 3131 Thomasville Road and August 16, 2014, 1:00pm - 3:30pm @ Bethel AME Church, 501 West Orange Avenue.
