The Tallahassee Police Departments Financial Crime Unit has closed a case of fraud by a Tallahassee Housing Authority employee. The employee, Tamika Gause was a senior accountant at the Tallahassee Housing Authority. Ms. Gause took advantage of her position by stealing public housing funds intended for Section 8 landlords and wired them to her own personal bank accounts. Investigators learned Ms. Gause is the owner and operator of Party Workz and TDS accounting services, which are businesses she used to facilitate her theft of the funds.
The financial loss suffered by the Tallahassee Housing Authority due to Temika Gause was $11,236.95. Ms. Gause turned herself into the Gasden County Jail after warrants were issued on 10/23/13 for the following charges:
- Criminal Use of Personal Identification (Identity Theft) 6 counts
- Grand Theft ($10,000-$20,000)
- Organized Scheme to Defraud
