DUI Strike Force Hosts Checkpoint
September 06, 2013
This evening (9/6/13), the Tallahassee Police Department along with the Leon County Multi-Agency DUI Strike Force (LCSO, FSU PD, FAMU PD, FHP, and FDLE/Capitol Police) will be hosting a safety and sobriety checkpoint in the Tallahassee area. This checkpoint will run from 10:30pm until 1:00am and will be in the 2500 block of West Tennessee Street.
The checkpoint is used for the purpose of detecting drivers who are too impaired to operate a motor vehicle, vehicles with faulty equipment, and those drivers operating a vehicle without a valid license. This checkpoint will be well marked by signage, marked patrol vehicles, and uniformed officers and is designed to have a minimal impact on traffic flow. TPD remains committed, as does the Strike Force, to keep motorists safe from those drivers that have chosen to drive impaired. Plan a safe ride home before you drink, and never ride with someone who is impaired.
The Tallahassee Police Department reminds you, “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over”.
