At approximately 2:00am this morning, the Tallahassee Police Department responded to a robbery attempt in the area of Springhill Road and Springsax Road. The victims reported the suspects fled in a vehicle after the attempt. A “Be On the Lookout” (BOLO) was issued to area law enforcement and TPD officers located the vehicle in the area of Kay Drive. The vehicle fled from the officers and a short vehicle pursuit ended near the Hilaman Golf Course. The suspects attempted to flee on foot but were apprehended by officers, one being captured with the assistance of a K-9 dog. One of the suspects was reported to be hiding in a pond located on the golf course. The Tallahassee Fire Department was called to assist with a boat to search the water.
All were eventually captured and are currently being interviewed by investigators with TPD’s Violent Crimes Unit and charges are pending. Once the interviews and appropriate charges are complete, TPD will provide the arrest affidavit reports.
“This is another fine example of cooperation by our emergency response personnel and I would like to personally thank the Tallahassee Fire Department for their help with this case,” Chief Dennis Jones said, “I would also like to congratulate the officers for their perseverance in locating the suspects, as well as our K-9 officer for bringing these suspects to justice.”
