New Caregiver Class Forming : Powerful Tools for Caregivers
Friday, October 3 - November 7, 10:00am - 12:30pm
Saint Paul's United Methodist Church - 1700 N Meridian RoadPowerful Tools for Caregivers is an educational program designed to provide you with the tools needed to take care of yourself while you're taking care of a loved one with a chronic disease. The program is six 2 ½ hour class sessions held weekly. Caregivers learn to reduce stress, improve self-confidence, better communicate with family members and health care providers, balance life challenges, increase the ability to make tough decisions, and locate helpful resources. Retirement Transitions Workshop
Monday, November 17 - 10:00am - 3:00pm at the Tallahassee Senior Center
In partnership with Workforce Plus, Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce, VolunteerLeon, RSVP and Adult & Community Education. A project of Tallahassee-Leon County Community for a Lifetime
Topics will include:
- workplace trends today,
- resume writing and interview tips,
- civic engagement and volunteer opportunities,
- financial impact on personal benefits.

Deck the Halls - "A Celebration of Wreaths"
December 4 - 7:00 - 9:00pm
The Tallahassee Senior Center's signature fundraiser and holiday shopping extravaganza is just around the corner! Decorations galore. Food. Music. Fun. Wreaths-60 or more will be auctioned during the festivities. A separate silent auction promises to offer plenty of items-including gift certificates, services (massage, manicures and more), jewelry, and other retail merchandise. Enjoy the one-stop-shopping experience. The Deborah Lawson Group provides the evening's entertainment so shoppers can stroll to a unique blend of traditional and contemporary jazz and blues.
You are invited to participate. Donate a wreath, silent auction item, or become a co-sponsor.
Proceeds from Deck the Halls fund quality programs and services for seniors throughout Tallahassee and Leon County. By purchasing your wreath and gifts at TSC, you are investing in the future of area seniors. The Joyful Dancer Dance Group dances consist of a variety of music for people to dance the waltz, fox trot, tango, samba, swing, country, rumba, mambo, cha-cha, salsa, disco, V waltz, quickstep, West Coast swing, polka merengue, and the bolero. $5 seniors, $7 all others.
Contra Dance (Tallahassee Community Friends of Old Time Dance)
Fun, energetic, easy dancing. No experience necessary. Families welcome! 7:30 - 10:30pm unless otherwise noted; $5.

Senior Adventure Club
Open to adventurous seniors and non-seniors! Like hiking, canoeing, biking, or cultural tours? The group meets monthly on the 1st Thursday at 7 pm. Outings-scheduled various times and dates - find participants at state parks, on trains, and even in caverns. $2 donation suggested for meetings. Cost of outings varies.
