UPDATE: TPD Investigates Shooting on Ocala Road

Rrionna Godwin has been arrested in connection with the homicide that occurred at 1303 Ocala Road on July 10, 2019. The investigation revealed that Godwin arranged a drug deal along with her male associate. During the transaction Godwin and her male associate robbed Robert Simmons, Jr. Out of retaliation, Simmons retrieved a firearm from his residence and shot Godwin and her male associate, as they attempted to leave the complex. Godwin sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and the male associate would later succumb to his injuries.
Probable Cause was found to charge Godwin with Felony Murder due to her involvement in the botched drug transaction that led to the death of the male victim. Godwin was taken into custody by law enforcement in Panama City, Florida.

Update - July 11 at 2:00pm
TPD has arrested Robert Simmons, Jr. in connection with the homicide on Ocala Road. Simmons was transported to the Leon County Detention Facility for processing for the below charges.

Initial Release
At approximately 6:42 p.m. the Tallahassee Police Department responded to a shooting which occurred near the 1300 block of Ocala Road. Arriving officers discovered that two victims were suffering from gunshot wounds. Sadly, one victim succumbed to their injuries. The second victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
