Tallahassee Fire Department Extinguishes Fire Caused by Candle

At 9:21 P.M. the Tallahassee Fire Department received a call about a possible structure fire at 916 Abbiegail Dr. Within six minutes, fire crews from stations 1, 2, and 8 were on scene and discovered flames coming from the front of the structure. Our fire companies were able to both simultaneously extinguish the fire and determine that no one was still inside. Firefighters were able to stop the fire from further spreading to the other rooms in the house. No injuries were reported on scene, and damages are estimated to be at $45,000. The cause of the fire is believed to have started by a lit candle that was left unattended. The Red Cross was called on scene to assist the displaced family.
