Weed Delivery Plan Goes Up In Smoke
August 18, 2017
In June of this year, investigators assigned to the Tallahassee Police Department's Special Investigations Section received a tip about suspects trafficking large quantities of marijuana from California to Tallahassee in a recreational vehicle. After verifying the information and developing additional details through investigative efforts, the traffickers were identified as Colby Standley and Juanita Kinsey.
On Monday of this week, TPD received information the suspects had returned to Tallahassee in the recreational vehicle. Probable cause was developed for a search warrant, which was signed by the Honorable M. Fitzpatrick and was served on Tuesday. During the search of the vehicle, investigators located over 40 pounds of marijuana and a significant amount of U.S. currency. The currency and the vehicle were seized and are being held as evidence in the pending case. Mr. Colby was arrested at the time of the search warrant. Ms. Kinsey was not on scene on Tuesday but was located and arrested on Wednesday. Both suspects were taken to the Leon County Jail for processing.
