TPD Makes Sexual Abuse Arrest

On August 4, 2017, the Tallahassee Police Department was made aware of a student who had been sexually abused by Jeffrey Henry, a former piano teacher in the after school program. The abuse is to alleged to have taken place while the student was receiving piano lessons at the School of Arts and Sciences, located at 3208 Thomasville Road in Tallahassee. The child alleged the abuse took place over the course of several years, when the child was between the ages of 5-9 years old.
The case was immediately assigned to a specially trained investigator within TPD's Special Victims Unit, who worked with the Department of Children and Families Child Protective Investigators and the State Attorney's Office to thoroughly investigate the allegations. TPD also worked closely with the School of Arts and Sciences and Stubb's Music Center to review records and collect any known evidence in the case.
On August 8, 2017, the Honorable Judge Smith signed warrants for Mr. Henry, who was subsequently arrested and taken to the Leon County Jail for processing. Due to the length and nature of the abuse, TPD investigators are continuing to follow up on the case and are asking anyone with information about this crime, or if they believe they were a victim of Mr. Henry, to please call them at (850) 891-4200.
