The Tallahassee Police Department was called to the Sears at 1500 Apalachee Parkway today about a theft of two (2) chainsaws from the business. At about 12:30 pm today, the Consolidated Dispatch Agency was called by a Sears store employee who reported a male had been seen leaving the store without paying for the chainsaws and was currently hiding in the brush line near Blairstone Road. TPD officers quickly arrived in the area and located the suspect, who immediately ran further into the woods. More resources, including TPD and LCSO K-9, the LCSO helicopter and additional patrol units arrived in the area and attempted to locate the suspect.

The suspect was provided immediate medical care on scene and transported to a local hospital for minor injuries related to the dog bite. Once cleared from the hospital the arrestee will be taken to the Leon County Jail for processing.
