Arrests Made in January Robberies

After an extensive investigation by the Tallahassee Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit, three people have been arrested for several robberies. The arrests are connected to series of armed robberies occurring January 17, through January 19, 2017. The incidents occurred at American Freight, 3170 West Tharpe Street on January 17, 2017 at 7:15 pm, Dollar General, 624 Whittaker Road on January 17, 2017 at 10:43 pm, and X-Mart, 2962 Apalachee Parkway, on January 19, 2017 at 4:26 am. In each case, the victims reported the males entered the businesses and pointed guns at them while taking money. TPD investigators spent several months reviewing physical evidence, analyzing cell phone data, and interviewing witnesses in order to bring closure to these cases.
On July 19, 2017, TPD charged Tradarius A. Gaines with robbery with a firearm at all three locations, Tamylon D. Williams was charged with robbery with a firearm at all three locations, and Javarius J. Jones was charged with robbery with a firearm at American Freight and Dollar General. Gaines, Williams, and Jones are currently in the Leon County Jail.

Charges: 2 counts of Robbery with a Firearm pursuant to Florida Statute 812.13(2)(a)
