UPDATE: TPD Makes Arrest in Capital City Bank Robbery

After reviewing all available evidence and conducting numerous interviews with witnesses, the Violent Crimes Unit of the Tallahassee Police Department, with the assistance of the US Marshal’s Service, has located and arrested James Lawson in connection with this case. Mr. Lawson was taken to the Leon County Jail for processing.

The Tallahassee Police Departments Violent Crimes Unit is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a robbery which occurred today at approximately 10:50am. TPD Patrol Officers were called to the Capital City Bank at 1456 Capital Circle Northwest after the bank alerted them to a possible emergency. The Consolidated Dispatch Agency was called after the suspect came into the business and implied he had a weapon. The suspect demanded money from the bank employee and fled the business after receiving an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect was described as a white male, wearing a baseball style ball cap, blue jeans and navy blue sweatshirt with a green, white, tan and orange design on the front. He was last seen fleeing the bank in the pictured pickup truck. Thankfully, no one was injured during the incident and the bank employees are working with investigators from TPD’s Violent Crimes Unit to identify the suspect.
