On Oct. 12, the Tallahassee Police Department’s Special Investigations Section was actively working a case involving the illegal sale of narcotics.
During the investigation, the subject was seen committing a traffic violation near West Tennessee Street and Senator Pat Thomas Boulevard. With assistance from the Violent Crimes Response Team, officers attempted a traffic stop, and the subject fled at a high rate of speed. To ensure the safety of the community, officers did not pursue the vehicle.
Shortly after, the vehicle was found in the 1800 block of Nekoma Court unoccupied. A search was conducted with assistance from a K-9 unit. A firearm was found discarded near the vehicle, and probable cause was developed to search the vehicle, where 6.5 grams of Fentanyl were found in plain view.
While on scene at the vehicle, investigators received a tip about the subject’s location. He was found hiding in a nearby home inside a bathroom actively attempting to flush narcotics. The subject was also carrying over $12,000 in cash. He was taken into custody without further incident.
Following the arrest, a search warrant was obtained for the subject’s home in the 1300 block of Linda Ann Court. Investigators found two firearms, numerous rounds of ammunition, drug paraphernalia and fraudulent credit cards inside the residence.
