On this page, you can select a specific cemetery and the first few letters of a deceased person's last name to see all burials in all City-owned cemeteries, whose last names begin with those letters. (By default, this listing shows all names starting with "A." It never shows more than 500 names, however. For this reason, you should enter as many letters as you know. The current database contains almost 21,000 records total.) Optionally:
(1) You may search on a last name and first name together: enter the last name, followed by a comma and a space, followed by one or more characters from the first name. For instance, to search for all burials with the last name Smith whose first names start with A, you would enter:
(2) You may search using "wildcard" characters, which represent any combination of letters, punctuation, and spaces. The wildcard character here is a percent sign (%). To search on everyone whose surname starts with the letter S and anywhere else in the name (including the first name, middle initial, and so on) includes the letter J, you could enter:
Each page of the listing shows up to 20 names at a time; if the results include more than 20 names, you can move back and forth through all pages using the navigation controls below the search box.
If you haven't already seen it, you might also want to refer to some additional background information about the data shown in these records.
Note that you can also download a PDF version (2.4MB) of the complete City of Tallahassee-owned burials list. Please note that this is a large file, currently over 460 pages long if printed.
