Special Events
The Special Events unit sponsors numerous events throughout the year including an Easter Egg Hunt, The Kleman Sizzlin' Saturdays Concert Series, 4th of July-Celebrate America and the Winter Festival, and facilitates the use of city facilities and services for events put on by community groups.
Park Permits
If you are interested in hosting an event, you can use our Park Permit Application (PDF) process. A Special Event Application (PDF) may also be required for larger events. Please allow 30-60 days for most permits to be processed. A hard copy of the park permit can be requested through our Special Events unit at 891-3887.

In addition, if you are a tournament organizer, group or non-city sports league who would like to reserve a field, you can do so by following the field reservation process.
Summer Playground Program - "Get off the Shelf in 2012"
A supervised summer playground program will be conducted at the sites listed below from 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday- Friday, with supervision from 7:30am- 5:30pm from June 11 – August 3.
Each playground will offer a variety of physical, social and cultural activities on a daily basis, as well as field trips, special guests and weekly special events. Youth ages 5-16 can participate. Children five years of age must have completed kindergarten in order to be registered for the Playground Program.
The fee is $56.00 per week per participant. Sites are Myers Park, Winthrop Park, ForestMeadows and the following Community Centers: Jack McLean, Jake Gaither, Walker Ford and Lawrence-Gregory at Dade Street.
Pre-Registration is scheduled Monday, April 9. Registration times, procedures and places may be viewed in the parent handbook found online when available.

Staging Services Rental
The City of Tallahassee offers two different types of stages. Our riser stage, seen at events such as the Summer Concert Series and Winter Festival, is a stage made up of 4' by 8' pieces that can make a stage up to 24' by 16'. There are 12 pieces available and they can stand at heights of either 1' or 2' off the ground. The cost for this stage is $200 for non-profit organizations or $500 for others.
Our Showmobile Stage has been seen at all Downtown Get Downs, Winter Festival and Celebrate America to name a few. The stage surface measures 32' by 24' with a height of 4' off the ground. The cost for the showmobile is $80.00 per hour + tax if applicable for non-profit organizations and $95.00 per hour including tax for others with a four-hour minimum. For any stage rental, the renter must provide general liability insurance naming the City of Tallahassee as additionally insured for the date of the event in the amount of $1 million per occurrence. Reservation requests must be made at least fifteen (15) days in advance and are accepted on a first come, first served basis.
