Tennis Court Rules

  1. All players are required to register and pay appropriate fees at the monitor stations at the beginning of each play period.
  2. Instruction may be given by authorized City staff instructors only. City courts may not be used for unauthorized instruction.
  3. The USTA Code for court conduct will be enforced. Players should show courtesy to players on other courts. Do not cross through courts during play. No horseplay or profanity.
  4. These courts are used for recreational play and for programs and activities approved and/or sponsored by the City. The Tennis Superintendent must approve all court use for leagues, tournaments, and specific events.
  5. Players should wear appropriate tennis attire. Shirts and tennis shoes are required. No street shoes are allowed.
  6. No pets, motorcycles, bicycles, skates, skateboards or any other vehicles allowed on the courts.
  7. Players with ball hoppers will be allowed on netted courts only.
  8. Players will not be permitted to play when rain has made courts unplayable.
  9. A 10-minute default rule will be in effect for court reservations.

Non-Monitored Courts (Lafayette, Fourth Avenue, Walker Ford, Jake Gaither, Hilaman, Jack McLean and Myers Park)

  1. Instruction may be given by authorized City staff instructors only. City courts may not be used for unauthorized instruction.
  2. The USTA Code for court conduct will be enforced. Players should show courtesy to players on other courts. Do not cross through courts during play. No horseplay or profanity.
  3. These courts are used for recreational play and for programs and activities approved and/or sponsored by the City. All court use for leagues, tournaments, and specific events must be approved by the Tennis Superintendent.
  4. Players should wear appropriate tennis attire. Tennis shoes are required. No street shoes are allowed.
  5. No pets, motorcycles, bicycles, skates, skateboards or any other vehicles are allowed on the courts.
  6. When courts are full, play should be limited to 1.5 hours for singles or doubles.
  7. Ball hoppers should not be used when surrounding courts are full.
  8. Players will not be permitted to play when rain has made courts unplayable.
