Class Descriptions
Parent/Child 6 Months - 3 Years Old: One adult (parent/guardian) will be required to get in the water with their child during this class. The class is designed to help parents learn different methods of teaching their children to float and kick and feel more comfortable with their children in the water. Children still in diapers must wear a swim diaper during class. Instructor to student ratio is 1:10.
Preschool 3-4 Years Old: Prepares 3-4 year olds for increased success in youth lessons and sets the tone for a lifetime of water enjoyment. Playful and nurturing instructors guide preschoolers through the basics of water adjustment and into water exploration in a safe and fun manner. Children will first be introduced to going underwater safely, progressing onto floating on their back and front. They will also be introduced to basic freestyle skills, such as gliding and arm strokes. Instructor to student ratio is 1:5.
Youth 5-12 Years Old: Children are taught in small groups and move to higher skill groups as they achieve the advancement goals of their present group. Starting with the most basic skill, blowing bubbles in the pool, swimmers advance through 10 skill stations from "roll over and float" to advanced stroke mechanics. Instructor to student ratio is 1:5.
Adult 13 Years and Older: These classes are designed to teach adults basic and intermediate swimming skills. In addition, water safety skills are taught to increase personal comfort levels around aquatics facilities. Instructor to student ratio is 1:6.
