Aquatics Group Reservations
Which pool can I rent for a party? All City of Tallahassee Pools are available for private parties May through September. Jack McLean Aquatics Center also has semi-private times available for small parties.
When can I reserve a date? Parties should be booked at least two weeks prior to your event. Space is limited so please book early! Party times are only available before or after the public operating hours.
How many people can attend? Maximum capacity is 75 people for private parties and 25, 50 and 75 people for semi-private parties.
How much does it cost to rent a pool? Each pool has its own fee schedule. Please see the table below.
What is the cancellation policy? Parties may be cancelled up to 10 days before your scheduled event without penalty. Cancellations that fall within the 10–day window, will forfeit the rental fee.
What do the fees cover? Private party: Fees cover the "exclusive" use of the facility, certified staffing, as well as tables and chairs/loungers. If you will need more than a few tables and chairs, please check with staff to see what is available. All lifeguards are American Red Cross certified.
Semi-private party: Same as above except there may be up to two other small parties using the pool at the same time.
How do I reserve a date?
- To reserve Trousdell Aquatics Center (TAC), Robinson Trueblood (RT), Levy or Forestmeadows (FM) Pools, stop by the Trousdell Aquatics Center.
- To reserve Jack McLean Aquatics Center (JMAC), Walker Ford (WF) or Wade Wehunt (WW) Pools, please stop by the Jack McLean Aquatics Center.
For all rentals:
The Pool Supervisor and cashiers are the only staff members authorized to reserve parties. If neither is available, please leave a message with staff and someone will contact you.
- Give the date you are requesting to check its availability.
- Choose a time slot. Available times will vary by pool and date.
- Complete a Rental Contract.
- Make the rental fee payment. This portion of the total fee holds the date for you. The remaining balance (lifeguard charges) is due 10 days prior to your scheduled event. If payment is not received before the 10-day window, it is at the discretion of the Pool Supervisor or Aquatics Supervisor to honor the contract.
- Cash, checks, or money orders only.
- A copy of the Rental Contract will be provided to you to serve as both a receipt and for your confirmation.
- Party reservations cannot be made via phone
What if it rains? This is Florida; we experience many "splash and dash" showers. As long as there is no thunder, lightning or heavy rains, the party will go as scheduled. In the event that staff must cancel your party due to thunder, lightning or heavy rains, you may reschedule for any open date. Refund requests will be approved at the discretion of the Aquatics Supervisor. Parties will not be cancelled until the start of your scheduled event.
Can our guest stay and enjoy the pools after our party has ended? Yes, however, your party must end by the time on your contract. Participants must exit the facility until it opens to the public. Staff will stamp your hand so you can re-enter without paying the entrance fee (Morning rentals only).
What can I wear to the pool? All patrons attending the party who wish to get in the water must be wearing appropriate bathing attire. Male and female swimmers must wear actual bathing suits. "Basketball style" shorts are allowed. Female suits can be one or two-piece, however, sports bras and thongs are not permitted. This applies to children as well. All children wearing diapers must have a swim diaper. Regular diapers are not permitted. Patrons will be asked not to enter the water if they do not have the proper bathing attire.
What can/can't I bring to the pool?
- Food and beverages - homemade, catered, etc…. are permitted during parties only. However, there is no refrigeration or ice available at the facilities.
- No Glass Containers of any type.
- Piñata's that you must strike with a stick/bat are not permitted. However, the kind that have strings to pull are allowed.
