Continuing Operations Lead to Multiple Drug Arrests After Citizen Complaints

In an effort to help combat the harmful effects of drugs in the community, the Tallahassee Police Department conducted operations on Thursday, Oct. 1, at the intersections of Old Bainbridge Road and West Fourth Avenue and Capital Circle Southeast and Apalachee Parkway. The goal of both operations, sparked by community concerns, was to detect and interrupt drug-related crimes in the area and help improve the quality of life for residents and business owners.
Through collaborative efforts among TPD’s Special Investigations Section, Violent Crimes Response Team and Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving Squad, both operations led to the arrests of several people for drug-related charges and outstanding warrants. In additional to several drug crime arrests; the officers also located a stolen vehicle during the operation at Capital Circle Southeast and Apalachee Parkway. The vehicle had been reported stolen in Wakulla County. The driver was arrested on multiple charges.

- Syluous Thomas, 41, for possession of methamphetamine and outstanding warrants
- Rodney Christian, 29, for outstanding warrants
- Kimberly Carter, 37, for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia
- Marsha Singleton, 49, for an outstanding warrant from Jackson County, Fla.,
- Curtis Searcy, 33, for possession of synthetic cannabis
- Robert McNaughton, 36, for possession of synthetic cannabis
- James Glover, 39, for possession of cocaine
- Wardell Brown, 59, for possession of cocaine with intent to sale within 1,000 feet of a childcare facility and tampering with/destroying evidence
