Fall Citizen's Fire Academy

The City of Tallahassee Fire Department is now accepting applicants to its Citizen's Fire Academy (TCFA). Applications are open to persons aged 18 or older and who either live or work in the City of Tallahassee, Leon County area. The Citizen's Fire Academy Class dates are Thursday nights from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m., October 17, 24, 31, November 7 and 14. All classes will be held at Tallahassee Fire Department training classroom located at 2964 Municipal Way. Class size will be limited to 30 students and the deadline to apply is Thursday, October 10.
The program is designed for people who have a genuine desire to learn about the daily life of firefighters, who want to increase fire and life safety awareness, and who wish to increase the awareness of the services provided by the City of Tallahassee Fire Department. The Citizen's Fire Academy is a hands-on learning experience!

- Emergency Medical Services
- Personal Protective Gear
- Live Fire Training
- Apparatus & Responsibilities
- Urban Search and Rescue (USAR)/Hazardous Materials
- Fire Prevention
- Communications and Hazardous Materials
- CPR/AED Heartsaver Certification Class
The academy concludes with a graduation celebration. Class members will receive a certificate of completion from the City of Tallahassee Fire Department.
