Senior Services
Facilitating, promoting, and providing diverse wellness and aging programs, services and resources for citizens over 55 and their caregivers is the primary objective of the Tallahassee Senior Services This is accomplished through a variety of city and sponsor supported educational, social, recreational and health activities.
The Senior Center is staffed and maintained by City general revenue dollars. A 15-member Advisory Council is appointed by the City Commission to represent seniors' interests and needs in the Tallahassee area.
To provide a means of generating funding to support the programs and services of Tallahassee Senior Services and its participants, an independent private non-profit organization, Tallahassee Senior Citizens Foundation, was established in 1980. It is administered by a 15-member Board of Directors elected by the current board.
Membership is open to all interested persons. For information on joining and other ways to contribute, feel free to contact the Senior Center or drop by and pick up a membership brochure.
