What are "Local Preferences"?
In accordance with the City of Tallahassee Local preference policy ordinance no. 89-O-0074 bidders located in Leon, Gadsden, Jefferson and Wakulla counties may qualify for 5% preference to local businesses in making such purchases whenever the application of such a preference is reasonable in light of the dollar-value of proposals received in relation to such expenditures.

What are "Charitable Contribution Preferences"?
In accordance with Section 2-92, City of Tallahassee Code, Ordinance # 06-0-47AA, bidders may qualify for a preference under this solicitation based on contributions made to health and human services agencies, which are qualified as such by the United Partners for Human Services, or the local United Way. To qualify, the contribution(s) must have been made within the twelve-month period preceding the date bids are due to be submitted and must be certified, on the form provided by the City, by the receiving agency.
